We arrived back in the UK on Friday 27th October but our hearts are still in Mozambique as we look at our photographs and view the video footage of our amazing journey. We both feel so blessed and highly honoured to sample missionary life first hand having such an insight into missionary work.

We went to work in the mission field along side Elwyn & Liz, where they went we went, we seen two new Pastors ordained in the Chimoio church the first Sunday, Pastor Jose Emanuel and Pastor Raphael Louise Norta. Picture from tripFollowing this service we sampled a local delicacy of goat and rice and Angela tried some sudsa (African food).

The following day we visited a missionary sponsored school in Chimoio and seen children from nursery age to about seven years of age and were amazed just how well behaved they were. That afternoon we visited Maforga Mission / Orphanage and were introduced to a lady called Jacqui Smith who gave us an insight into her work and also the background to the children lives, and how their mothers had died either during or after child birth. One particular baby was found on the road side, we found this hard to code with and very emotional. (Please pray for this orphanage).

The next day we visited the leaders training centre in Catandica, meeting with Pastor Armando and other leaders in training, we both brought greetings during the service and had a chicken and goat lunch with the people. We also spent time making friends with people from the adjacent village just a short distance away having Picture from tripfun taking pictures and showing them back to the people in the view finder of my camera .They found this highly amusing to see there own faces, probably for the first time with not having any mirrors.

The best was now to come, a 600km journey into the bush for a three day round trip to the ordination service of Pastor Chiago. We travelled north over the Zambezi river meeting up with Pastor Mark Binda, and then we drove through the river Chire, this was a very scary moment as the water level was approximately three feet deep. The water came right over the bonnet of Elwyn's 4 x 4, we were all praying at this point as we had visions of being stuck in the middle of this river, but God was good to us and we made it through. We then headed towards Mutarara, Villa Nova and arrived late afternoon at Chicote. This was a long drive but what made our day was when we arrived at Pastor Mark's village, being welcomed Picture from tripwith people running towards Elwyn truck singing and cheering at our arrival (what a welcome). President Tito was here also and what a pleasure this was for us to meet him too.

We set up camp with the assistance of all the people ready for our first night under canvas, this was definitely bush life pitch black at 6pm, mosquitoes biting you, strange noises in the middle of the night, or was this (Elwyn & Liz snoring in the tent next door) ha' ha'.

Up at 5am the next day for breakfast (bush style) and then on to the Dovo church for the ordination service of Pastor Chiago, again what a reception approximately 150 children running towards us singing and cheering so excited to see us entering their village. This was an amazing meeting, so many people that they had to hold the meeting outside the church under a Hugh tree, there must have been at least 350 people at this celebration service and we were blessed by all the different age groups singing and dancing praising the Lord for about the first two hours of a four hour meeting. Picture from tripPastor Chiago's ordination was lead by Pastor Mark Binda and President Tito with Pastor Elwyn bringing an excellent word (cheques in the post Elwyn).

After the meeting Angela, Liz & I played games with the children and during this time Angela was mobbed by the children as she attempted to give each child a lolly pop.

Thank you to those who prayed for us and a massive thank you to those who gave donations. Your generosity has blessed so many people i.e. we bought bicycles for Pastor Jose & Pastor Raphael to help them travel between churches, we bought plastic to cover two church roofs in preparation for the rainy season, and we donated money to the Maforga Mission / Orphanage as well as donating money to feed an awful lot of hungry little bellies.

Both Angela & I have had a life changing experience during our short term mission to Mozambique and have been blessed every step of the way by the Lord. We have seen first hand the reality of missionary work, and have gaining far more than what we ever dreamed of. I would like to encourage others by saying, if you feel that God is calling you to experience life in the mission field, then I urge you from the bottom of my heart to start praying, then start to planning and God will do the rest.

Please continue to pray and support Pastor Elwyn & Liz Williams in the amazing work they do for the Lord our God in Mozambique.
