More Details...
The Christian Centre is growing church with a big vision for the Middlesbrough. We have a long history in the suburbs, but in 2006 we moved the main Sunday meetings to the Town Centre.
A classic Christian cliché says that "Church is people not a building". We are trying to build a people; a group for others to join; somewhere, where people are resourced & equipped.
The Christian Centre is a member of The Evangelical Alliance and The Apostolic Church UK. We were founded in 1919 in Middlesbrough centre near the current University. As well as running Sunday meetings in the Town Centre we also have an outreach centre and HQ in Thorntree.
Our Mission:
"A place to belong, a place to become"
To create a church environment where people from all backgrounds are welcomed into the Christian community and where personal growth is facilitated so that every member can fulfil all the potential God has put within them.
Our Vision:
"A 21st century church for 21st century people"
To build a centre of excellence, with a significant Christian influence across the Tees Valley and beyond. A church that penetrates 21st century culture.
Our Values & Strategic Objectives
The aim is to bring the unchanging truth and power of God to a modern generation. Whilst God is always up-to-date, church often makes him seem irrelevant.
The journey so far has taken us through many changes as we seek to build a church for the unchurched. Non of our leadership would claim that we have already arrived but we are all excited about what the future holds.
If your looking to be part of a church; are new to the area; or are simply wanting to know more about God; you are welcome to join us on Sundays at 10:00am in the St.Mary's Centre, Corporation Road.
