What is the Christian Faith?
We believe that God wants to have a personal relationship with you. He is interested in every Human Being; of every race; religion; and language. He loves us equally, good people and bad people.
Every religion has a set of laws or values at its core. They tend to offer some sort of prize for following these rules or principles. We become better people; have life after death or are somehow enlightened.
Christianity is different to most other religions; we don't believe in trying to reach God; He has chosen to reach us. If God is real, then by nature He is far beyond us and our experience. No set of rules or principles could ever get us close to Him.
In our hearts, we're all a bit self-centred. Some people think of no-one but themselves, others spent their entire lives helping others. Whether we are good people or bad, we've all done wrong things. No-one is good all the time.
Jesus said, "Love God with all of your heart...and love your neighbour as yourself". Using the standard Jesus used, leaves us with a certain amount of failure. The bible calls these wrong things, sin. Sin separates us from God because He is perfect.
Jesus
Jesus was God's solution to the void between himself and human beings. We believe God loves people so much that He was willing to die in order to build a relationship between Himself and us.
A great expanse exists between us and God. It seems obvious that something is out there, beyond our life. Something else exists but is difficult to define or truly know. Many have tried to describe God; guesswork is the best we can do. The only way we could get a real understanding of God, is if He chose to make Himself known.
We believe that God made Himself known in the person of Jesus. Jesus was the solution to us knowing God and the solution to the wrong things we do.
Why did Jesus die?
He was born to die. Making God known was just one purpose in Jesus' life. The second purpose was to solve the problem of Sin.
He died instead of us, He paid the fine for everything we've ever done wrong or will do in the future. Jesus loved us so much that He accepted all the blame for the wrong we do.
By accepting Jesus and believing in Him, we can have a relationship with God. Everything we've done wrong is made right in the eyes of God. All we have to do is ask God to forgive us and accept Jesus.

How do we become a Christian?
Becoming a Christian is not complicated. God has made Himself accessible to everyone; all we have to do is ask Him into our life. If you would like relationship with God, please read the following prayer. If you are willing to pray and mean it, speak it out loud as a prayer to God.
Jesus, I'm sorry for the things I've done wrong in my life (take some time to ask God to forgive any particular things that are on your mind). Please forgive me for these things and every other thing I've done wrong.
I'm now willing to accept you. I'm willing to live my life the way you want me to live it. Thank you for dying for me on the cross so that I can
be forgiven.
I receive your forgiveness and I receive you in my life. Please live in me from this moment and forever.

What now?
- The first thing you should do is tell someone else. Telling others, helps make it a reality to you. The best people to tell at first are those who you think would be pleased to know.
- Get hold of a copy of the bible and start to read it. God likes to speak to us and one of the main ways He does so is through the bible. When you read the bible, ask God to speak to you through it.
- Start to speak to God every day. Prayer is not complicated; it's just like having a conversation. Tell God how you feel, thank Him for the things you are thankful for, ask Him to forgive the things that you do wrong and ask for His help in your daily life. Pray for your friends and the people around you as well.
- Join a church. Find a church in your local area and get involved. If you live in the Middlesbrough area, you are welcome to join us.
