Using iGoogle

If you the Goggle personal homepage and want to stay informed about new sermons on our website, you can subscribe to our podcast RSS feed.

On your Goggle homepage:

  • Click the link "Add stuff" (usually right to screen above main content but below the search box).
  • Goggle will display a page of homepage applications that can be added.
  • Next to the searchbox, click on the link "add by URL" (displayed in small text).
  • Copy'n'paste or type the following link in to the input field that appears:
    http://www.thechristiancentre.org.uk/podcast.rss
Make sure you copy it exactly including but not repeating "http://".
  • Click the add button.
  • The feed will now be added to your homepage.
  • Clicking your browser back button should take you back to the homepage with the new feed present.

Using My Yahoo!

My Yahoo! offers an excellent method for subscribing to the podcast feed. Yahoo will detect our feed as a podcast and display "Listen" links next to each item.

  • Make sure you are signed in.
  • Click the "Add content" link that normally appears under the searchbox.
  • On the new page that appears, click the link, "Add RSS by URL" (next to the find button in small text).
  • Copy'n'paste or type the following link in to the input field on the new page that appears:
    http://www.thechristiancentre.org.uk/podcast.rss
  • Click the "Add" button.
  • Yahoo! Will then find the feed and give you the option of adding it.
  • Click the link, "Add to My Yahoo!".
  • It will then be added to your homepage. Clicking "My Yahoo!" in the top left of your screen returns you to your homepage.

Yahoo! Will often default to only displaying info updated in the last 3 days; this may not be useful for our feed. To change this setting

  • click on the "edit" link, next to our feed title on your My Yahoo! Homepage.
  • Select "Edit Content" on the menu that appears.
  • On the options at the bottom of the page select "any date" instead of "past 3 days".
  • click the "Finished" button at the button of the page.

To subscribe using Live Bookmarks:

  • Make sure you have this page loaded in Firefox and not an alternative browser.
  • In the address page, a small orange logo should appear at the far right. Click on this icon.
  • A box appears allowing you to enter a suitable name for the feed. Enter something like "Christian Centre Sermons".
  • Use the button with an upward triangle (after 2nd input field), to select where in the bookmarks structure you want it to appear.
  • Click Okay.
  • It should now appear live in you bookmarks menu.

Using iTunes

iTunes gives you some of the most advanced options. It will notify you of the latest sermons, automatically download them, play them and even upload them to an iPod.
