Our statement of values represent a balance between the culture that exists within The Christian Centre and the direction we are going in.
- Apostolic people:
We aim to be Apostolic within the churches in Middlesbrough. The heart of an Apostle is the heart of a father. We seek to serve and give ourselves to other local churches, not choosing to "Lord it over them" or steal their congregations.
- Every member ministry:
Every Christian has unique gifts and abilities given to them by God. We aim to see all our members functioning in their God given abilities.
- Centre of excellence:
Church has often been guilty of doing things cheap and tacky. To the best of our current abilities, we aim to do everything well, professionally and without cringe.
- Hospitable community:
Church is built not on structures, vision statements and money. It's built on the people within. We aim to foster relationships and a welcoming atmosphere were new people can easily join us.
- Outward focus:
We are trying to build a church for the people who have not yet joined us. We seek to cater for current members, whilst trying to foster a culture that seeks to grow and embrace newcomers.
- Penetrating society:
Church is meant to exist outside the walls of our Sunday services and connect groups. We aim to be a church in society, in our workplaces, families and communities.
Strategic Objectives
These are our current objectives, designed to meet our vision and mission statement, whilst holding to the core values.
- A Sunday service where we are comfortable inviting unchurched friends.
- A culture where every member has a passion for introducing people to Jesus and sees their primary ministry as outside of the church.
- A role in promoting closer co-operation between churches across the Tees valley.
- A diverse community using multiplication of the connect groups to accommodate people's common interests.
- A reputation for sound bible teaching presented effectively in a contemporary manner.
- A large and successful children's work serving as a positive role model to other churches.
- A youth work that plays a leading role in transforming youth culture in our area.
